Sector Rotation (RRG)

Relative Rotation Graph for the SPDR sectors plus SMH/IGV against SPY. Each sector is plotted by RS-Ratio (relative trend) and RS-Momentum (rate of change of that trend), with a 7-session tail showing the direction of travel. Healthy rotation runs clockwise: Improving -> Leading -> Weakening -> Lagging. Context for where money is moving, not a timing signal.

When to run this study

Read weekly, not daily. The series is smoothed and normalized over a quarter, so a single session rarely moves a sector across a quadrant line and staring at it daily invites reading noise as rotation. Most useful when you already have a thesis and want to know whether the sector behind it is being accumulated or quietly distributed. It is a context map: it shows where money has been rotating, not when to buy anything.
